Description

The Raven is the traditional bird of war in Scotland for obvious reasons. It was commonly inscribed on swords. This Scottish Claymore with inscribed Raven is full size. 145cm (57″). It has a wooden handle and a stainless steel blade. it is brand new and comes in a box.

The two-handed claymore was a large sword used in the late Medieval and Early Modern period. It was used in the constant clan warfare and border fights with the English from circa 1300 to 1700. The two-handed claymore seems to be an offshoot of Early Scottish medieval swords which had developed a distinctive style of a cross-hilt with downsloping arms that ended in spatulate swellings
